Health, men and pantyhose (product intended for women)…?
Question by : Health, men and pantyhose (product intended for women)…?
Please no perverted comments or regards of any sort. This is a serious health issue.
Its been suggested that men with poor leg circulation, or blood clot, or anything that might be causing leg pain, stiffness, or cold feet in general; its been suggested even by doctors (I believe) that these men wear pantyhose…
Aside from the fact that I had to buy them in Macy’s, the embarrassment really kicked in when I had to ask two old ladies to help me pick out the right size (I’m over 6’0, and it took a while before I found it. Just imagine how humiliating that was; they still proved to be small)…
Now I’ve tried them… truthfully, they’re very comfortable. But even more importantly; immediately I felt that they tighten around the leg very well and hold bones perfectly in their place providing relief (comfort similar to that of when hanging by your hands as your bottom and legs stretch out the spine and the upper part of the body).
But it comes down to it that now in the summer time (purchasing is still humiliating), shorts don’t exactly cover up. The fact that men initially wore pantyhose (tights back then) in 14 -19th century, means nothing today. Though there’s a load of support out there for straight men with this problem, “you gotta do what you gotta do” doesn’t work today. Women especially have thoughts of all sorts of such men.
You girls/women out there (please keep in mind that this is a health issue, and not that gay/straight thing), if you don’t feel weird about it, please give me advice on best brands (keep in mind also that I’m looking for the type of comfort that I’ve explained earlier and therefore brands that offer this) and guys with the same problem who actually use this “product” and manage… how do you do it (especially in summer)? How do you manage to stay and feel comfortable and “normal” in a sense, with all this?
(Again, please no perverted comments or regards of any sort. this is a serious health issue).

You obviously enjoy wearing pantyhose, you big flaming queen.

As a man, I’d advice you to use compression pants, and compression sleeves, it’ll give you more of an ‘injury’ look, instead of a straight pantyhose look. Which should get less weird reactions, since you can just answer, injury if anyone asks.
It’s a little more heavy-duty than pantyhose, so you’ll most likely get some better support.
I’m 6’6″, I wear comfortably Wolford’s MISS W 30 ABSOLUT SUPPORT in XXL, they fit fantastic and have a good amount of compression, but not as much as medical support hose, so they are still comfortable to wear. You can also check out http://www.comfilon.com for tights made for men.
If you feel humiliated to buy them in the store, just buy them online over an internetshop. As for wearing with shorts, take a colour that matches the best with your skin tone. Not many people will notice. If you want to make a bolder statement, go with black, that always fits with everything. You will see that some people look, but most don’t give a thought about what you wear or simply don’t notice.
There are and always will be people that will make comments. I don’t care. Let them talk and always have a good answer on your lips. What counts is the leg relief that you experience, and all people that comment like the first guy here have no idea about the incredible amount of leg pain-relief support pantyhose can give.
If you want to talk to like minded, pantyhose wearing men with no fetish background, you can visit this website: http://forums.delphiforums.com/LegwearUF/messages.
Otherwise the saying helps: People that mind, don’t matter. People that matter, don’t mind. You will probably not experience pantyhose wearing men to be accepted from society in your lifetime. So you either live with it, you cover up, or you live with neverending tiring, throbbing and hurting legs.
Good luck
Mike
I wear support pantyhose and Im 6ft. I have found that Sears makes a good support pantyhose in two different pretty good support styles Firm leg toning and Medium leg toning I wear size F and they are more than long enough for people over 6ft. The firm are like 70 denier and the Medium are 40 denier. You can buy those online or in store and a lot of times there like buy 3 get one free.
